The scent

Smoke first, dry and slightly peppery, with resin behind it. The oud emerges within the half hour and gives the smoke a base to stand on, darker and denser than the opening suggests. A myrrh-like bitterness runs through the middle and keeps everything austere. It ends warm, ashy and close to the skin.

Who it is for

Anyone who already loves bakhoor and wants it in a form they can wear out. It suits winter nights, formal evenings and the colder months generally. It is not a summer daytime fragrance and it is not one to wear to a small meeting room. Works on men and women alike.

How to use it

One or two sprays only, on the chest and the back of the neck rather than the wrists, so the smoke rises with your body heat. Apply to clean skin. It performs best in cool air, so consider it your winter bottle.
